Did You Hear About The Morgans? (2009) – Review

Unfortunately I heard about the Morgans. They got into some trouble and had to go into witness protection in the middle of no where. How can these city slickers survive in Hicksville USA? The same way I suggest the audience survive – curl up in the fetal position and cover your face. The best thing about this movie are the co-stars Sam Elliott and Mary Steenburgen. Both leads, Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker, are horrendous. Grant ups his mumbly dialogue delivery by a thousand times. His lines tend to start and stop and start and stop until finally he gets the words out of his mouth. Parker is no better while whining throughout the whole film. Marc Lawrence’s direction doesn’t stand out, it slouches down. But no wonder when his writing/directing credits include Miss Congeniality (1&2), Forces of Nature, Two Weeks Notice and Music and Lyrics. If not for Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant this guy would be out of a job fast. Definitely skip this snoozer.
