In classic animated story form, this is another movie that tells the tale of how a young kid can rise up and save the day. The main character, Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel), embodies everything that makes a wimpy nerd, well a whimpy nerd. The adults are so set in their ways when it comes to handling dragons. None of them have stopped to see if there is another way of dealing with them. Along comes Hiccup with an alternative point of view that only a kid could possess. And by doing so shows the adults how kindness and acceptance can in fact win the war.

This movie does a good job of entertaining the young audience, but is also something of a neat ride for their parents. The aerial acrobatics and high energy action both excite and amaze. Beautifully rendered graphics add to the thrill and believability of the world, especially if seen in a 3d theater. Worth checking out with the kids.

Hopefully this weekend I will check this out. It looks pretty entertaining and Dragons/Vikings/Knights or any other medieval/fantasy related characters are always a good thing! (In my opinion at least.)
