Death at a Funeral (2010) – Review
April 14, 2010 in Comedy, Reviews

2 1/2 Stars
Everyone thinking of catching this in theaters can save a little cash and rent the original 2007 Death at a Funeral instead. This movie is quite literally a remake, in that it is very very similar to the original English material. Offering relatively little new, surprisingly the remake is just as good as the original. Why give it 2 1/2 stars then you might ask? I’ll respond with, why not re-release the original?
Everyone in the film gives a great performance, Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, and of course James Marsden as the guy that gets high off hallucinogens but doesn’t realize it. It’s interesting to note that Peter Dinklage is in both the original and remake. Granted if I had a part for a little person Dinklage wouldn’t simply be the first to come to mind, but being one of the best working actors out there now, would be the only one to get for the part. Worth seeing even if you’ve seen the original, but not worth spending theater $’s on.
