Blade II (2002) – Review
September 20, 2010 in Action, Horror, Reviews

4 Stars
The second film in the ‘Blade’ series ranks amongst the best comic book films of all time. Director Guillermo del Toro taking over for Stephen Norrington brings a lighter more confident touch to the proceedings. A strong script by David S. Goyer follows Blade (the day walking vampire hunter) as he forms a pact with the Vampire clan in order to combat a more viscous breed of mutated bloodsuckers. Wesley Snipes gives his all to the title role, his deftness in the action sequences are matched by the weight he brings to the characters emotional conflict. This is essentially one long action sequence of a film; with breaks here and there to let the audience breath, laugh, and then jump. Before diving into another expertly choreographed fight scene. This was the highpoint in the ‘Blade’ trilogy. A must see for genera fans.
Director: Guillermo del Toro
