Albert Pyun Casting Dream Team of Michael Pare, Sasha Mitchell and Olivier Gruner

Albert Pyun has announced via his Facebook page that his next film will include Michael Pare, Sasha Mitchell and Olivier Gruner. Seems as if Pyun is putting together a little Expendables type cast here, something everyone in the lower-budget action world has been clamoring to do without success. Let’s hope he puts them to good use, he’s already said “I want to take Michael back to the way he looked in his two iconic movies, Streets of Fire and Eddie and the Cruisers. A sort of mythical, 50’s rebel look.”

Michael Pare can be last seen in The Lincoln Lawyer and has been in a lot of Uwe Boll movies as of late. Sasha Mitchell and Albert Pyun worked together on Kickboxer 2: The Road Back and Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor, but he is most recognized as Cody Lambert from the 90’s sitcom Step by Step. Olivier Gruner worked with Pyun on Nemesis (which went on to spawn three sequels) and Tales of an Ancient Empire , Pyun’s recent sequel to his 1980’s sword and sandal epic The Sword and the Sorcerer. In related news Pyun might also be working with Bolo Yeung soon. Bolo is best known as playing bad guys, especially Enter the Dragon and Bloodsport. Apparently this time around he’s looking to redefine himself in the “good guy” role. It could work, but he can be very menacing, which could make it hard to pull off. He’s nowhere near as big as he was in those films though, but that’s something that comes with passing time. Still we could see Bolo in some sort of Walking Tall type movie.

We’re very excited and intrigued to see what Pyun will do with this talent. Our fingers are crossed for some awesome action flicks!
