Another villain has been added to the long list of characters confirmed for the upcoming video game Batman: Arkham City. Today the official trailer for Mr. Freeze was released by Warner Bros. Interactive. The video depicts Batman in full Arkham City glory confronting the frozen fugitive inside his lab. The trailer is very well done for a video that features both cut-scenes and actual gameplay. Those of you looking forward to the second installment of this series should be pleasantly surprised with the progress thus far. The game seems to have an even more gritty and ruthless feel than the original Arkham Asylum.

Many fans are worried that the abundance of villains might distract from the core story or potentially clutter a more streamed lined experience. At this point, however, I think we as fans need to trust the developer that already brought us an incredible game the first time around. Personally, if it was up to me they’d have well known villains ready to kick The Bat’s ass around every corner. Don’t get me wrong I like speculation as much as the next guy, but commenting on how something might effect gameplay months before the game is even released seems a little premature. Either way they have a great lineup of villains thus far.

  1. Ratcather was confirmed in an interview on IGN and they have a pic of blackmask being beaten up, a map with him shooting at you and you play in the ruined SIONIS industries building (Roman Sionis is his real name) so Black Mask is probably in it.
