  1. I enjoyed Skyfall. This was a well-made film all the way around featuring great action sequences interspersed with character development. In all, good story, good direction, and good acting. When was the last time one could say a Bond film featured good acting from most of the cast?

Since Daniel Craig took over the roll of Bond, the producers have been focusing on a more realistic super-spy. That is, a Bond that takes itself more seriously minus the over-the-top gadgets, double entendres, and self-deprecating jokes. Although, without doubt, some do not like this departure from the traditional Bond formula. For myself, I find the newer Bond better. I loved Pierce Brosnan as Bond, but his last two films began to slide the franchise into the absurd. I think the producers realized that they had to update the films for the current market. Whether everyone agrees with this new direction will probably lead to as much discussion about Bond as the hiring of George Lazenby to replace Sean Connery in 1969.
