Top Gun 3D Re-Release Trailer Brings Back That Loving Feeling

Finally in 2013 we are getting a few classics that truly deserve the 3D and big screen re-release treatment, Top Gun and Jurassic Park are both high on my most anticipated list. A few years back I had the chance to see Top Gun on the big screen for the first time since 1986. It is a movie that commands the silver screen and deserves to be shown on the large IMAX format. Catch this for six days only starting Feb 8th-13th 2013, before its Blu-ray 3D release the following Tuesday. If you have any sort of love for Top Gun, do yourself a favor and seek it in the Cinema, it won’t disappoint. In the meantime check-out this beautifully constructed trailer that was set for release last year as evident by the 2012 icon, oddly this incarnation is increasingly rare to find and has been replaced with a generic trailer that is more a commercial for the Blu-ray. Enjoy and get your asses to theaters!

New Evil Dead Red Band Trailer – So Gory You’ll Blow Chunks

I had my reservations about the remake of this classic, but the more I see the more I’m willing to give it a chance. When I head Diablo Cody was writing on this I was sure it would be a dud, and I do see a little bit of Jennifer’s Body in here, but Cody stunned me with Young Adult. She tends to have great ideas that are badly executed. This doesn’t look so with this new red band trailer, which is chock full of gore and seems to find a good line between the fun of the original and updating a 30 year old low budget horror flick to the slickness of today’s standard. See Evil Dead in theaters April 12, 2013.

Channing Tatum Goes to His High School Reunion in the ’10 Years’ Trailer

Channing Tatum is back in American Reunion 2! No wait, it’s 10 Years, a more serious look at love and high school reunions. Let’s be honest, when watching this at some point you expected some male stripping, or at least Steve Stifler to pop up. As with most Tatum movies he’s surrounded by other cast members and together they form an odd box office draw. Here we have Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Lynn Collins, Rosario Dawson, Kate Mara, Chris Pratt, Ari Graynor, Justin Long, Anthony Mackie, Ron Livingston, Aubrey Plaza, Oscar Isaac, Scott Porter, and Brian Geraghty. Join the reunion in theaters on September 14.

Jake is deeply in love with his girlfriend and ready to propose – until he runs into his high school flame for the first time in ten years. Jake’s friend Cully married his cheerleader girlfriend, and has been looking forward to the reunion so he can finally apologize to all the classmates he bullied in high school. However, after a few too many drinks, the jock-turned-family man ends up reverting back to his old ways instead. Meanwhile, longtime rivals Marty and A.J spend the night still trying to one-up each other to impress the coolest girl in class, who now has a secret. The famous one of the group, Reeves, is now well-known musician, but is still too shy to talk to the high school crush who inspired his one hit wonder.

HOT TRAILER: Not in His Town! Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘The Last Stand’

This may not be the greatest Schwarzenegger vehicle ever, but the man is back in The Last Stand! This trailer is just in time for The Expendables 2, which it will be featured on. Talk about pin pointing your perfect audience.

I can’t wait for the Arnold one-liners and just to get back to some basic action flicks makes me feel like going to the theaters more often. Seeing that name and knowing it’s not just a cameo feels right. Wish the guy never got into politics, imagine what movies we could have gotten. Also he wouldn’t have let himself go so much. Regardless I’m a Schwarzenegger fan (if you couldn’t tell) and definitely catching this one in theaters on January 18, 2013.

After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow.

HOT TRAILER: Universal Soldier 4: Day of Reckoning – Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren and Scott Adkins Kick Some Ass!

Director/writer John Hymas (son of famed director Peter Hyams) has really taken over the Universal Soldier franchise with his second run in the director’s chair with this action brand (his first was the third installment Universal Soldier: Regeneration). Again Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are returning, this time with Scott Adkins. The timing of the release of this trailer is no accident as all three are in The Expendables 2, which is set to release this Friday, August 17.

In Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, surviving Unisols Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren) must battle anarchy and build a new order ruled by Unisols without government oversight. They are weeding out the weak and constantly testing their strongest warriors in brutal, life-and-death combat. Luc has emerged operating the Unisol Church of Eventualism, a self-help organization that takes in wayward Unisols whom the government has been secretly operating as remote-controlled sleeper agents. His mission is to liberate these Unisols from the implanted memories and the lies the government has inserted in them.

It looks like Adkins is playing one of these sleeper agents, and must travel to find Deveraux in order to discover why they did this to him. If you remember a while back we posted some odd pictures of JCVD from the set (also check out these pics), and now we know why he looked like part of the Insane Clown Posse. Deveraux is running a cult, and dressed the part.

The action looks great, this reminds me of straight to video 90’s fare, and Adkins has a great fan base for these types of flicks so his inclusion was smart. The fights also look cool, Adkins matches up against Dolph and Van Damme at what looks like separate points in the film. Lundgren gets an “and” in his title, so I imagine he’s only making a small appearance here, which is unfortunate but I’m sure he steals a scene or two as always.

Curiously the film is the first in the series to be shot and released in 3D. Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning will be available on Video On Demand October 25, 2012 and then in a limited theatrical run on November 30, 2012.

Latest ‘Men In Black 3’ Trailer Has Some “City Miles On It”

Word on the street is director Barry Sonnenfeld went into production on this flick without an ending. Thinking back on the first two in this franchise it probably won’t make any difference, these movies are all about the ride and not the destination. This looks and feels like a Men in Black movie, comfortable in its jokes and catch phrases it does justice to the older films. I’m looking forward to this, makes me feel like it’s 1997 all over again. Check out the full feature trailer below and let us know what you think.

Wrath Of The Titans Trailer – This Is What Clash Should Have Been

Admittedly after the somewhat boring walking adventure that was Clash of the Titans this sequel has been off my radar for a reason. But as its March 30, 2012 release date creeps up on us I decidedly to check it out. Wrath of the Titans is what Clash should have been. Amazing monsters, exciting action and even a little bit of an 80’s throwback look surprised and delighted me. These monsters kick the crap out of the titans from the first. Check it out below and let us know if you’ll give Perseus one more shot.

Perseus embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, who has been targeted for capture by his traitorous son, Ares, and his brother, Hades.

That’s My Boy Adam Sandler – Trailer

Finally Adam Sandler is getting back to basics again with That’s My Boy. Originally titled I Hate You Dad, the comedy is about a dead beat heavy partying dad who burns through all his cash and looks up his rich son. Bringing in a tried and true concept of opposites colliding ensuing in hilarity Sandler’s father character crashes into his son’s (Andy Samberg) life at the most inopportune time, he’s about to get hitched. This no doubt leads to some crude jokes that are heavily softened by some extremely sentimental moments (I’m sure Sandler’s character realizes he really loves his son, and vice-versa for Samberg). This is classic simple Sandler and I’m glad to see this easily summed up in a one line synopsis. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

A father moves in with his son right before his wedding and soon begins sparring with his daughter-in-law.

The Avengers (2012) Theatrical Trailer – I’m Still Not Sold

Sorry to all those fan boys out there, but this trailer still doesn’t sell me on this. I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan so I am holding out a little hope that The Avengers will assemble instead of fall apart. The parts I don’t look forward to in this film are the infighting crap between the heroes, I feel like we already went through an origin story for these guys and now we have to go through another one here. I don’t really understand why learning to work together has become such a big theme with ensemble or buddy action flicks like this. They should have gone a more Expendables route and they’re all cool except maybe one instead of all loose cannons. The concept of all these bigger than life characters coming together is already a tad on the ridiculous side, why call attention to it with a pissing contest? And those infighting sequences are always such throw away scenes that never further the story. I would like to see Hawk Eye featured in at least one trailer though, how does he fit into all of this? Check it out below and let us know what you think.
