Where to watch Beyond Skyline

This is an oddly very direct and yet indirect sequel. The first half of the film takes place simultaneously with the events of the original, only with a different set of characters. The second half of the film is a direct continuation of the original, having meet up exactly where that movie left off.
Aliens invade the world yet again (or rather from another perspective kinda), using bright blue lights they attract humans and steal their brains to power alien tech. A Los Angeles detective must save his teenage son – because this kid will not stop looking into the alien light – seriously he needs to just give in and let the kid go.
This sequel’s odd setup can’t save an otherwise boring affair. The special effects are great, the action is fine, it’s the story and script that fail miserably to hold any attention on the screen. The movie meanders wildly, starting off with characters getting sucked up into an alien ship in Los Angeles and winding up crashing down in Laos for whatever reason. This is a low budget subpar scifi actioner with the obligatory slow moments to draw out the running time. It’s not an interesting enough execution to justify it’s existence.
