Where to watch Watchers II

A genetically re-engineered dog develops a psychic link with a monster created in a lab experiment which goes awry.
Watchers II unwisely introduces new human characters not present in Dean R. Koontz’s source novel. The screenwriters of this sequel have decided on a different approach. Instead of using the plot concocted by the icon novelist, Einstein, the dog, and a hybrid monster, who both escape a lab, are the only elements to appear in the book. A screen adaptation of the material was mishandled once before with Watchers (1988), but the frustrating thing about Watcher II is that Marc Singer and Tracy Scoggins are perfect choices for the roles of Travis and Nora, the characters fleshed out in Koontz’s writing.
I’m a fan of other movies written by scribes Brancato and Ferris, and I’m still waiting for the definitive and authentic version of this story to make its way to screens. Watcher II is a mediocre creature feature with an appealing cast; but it lacks any suspense or scares.
