Where to watch Highlander: The Final Dimension
The third Highlander movie takes place at 1994, which means it’s a prequel of the second film. After the death of his beloved wife Heather some centuries ago, Connor MacLeod left the highlands of Scotland and wandered around the world. Finally, he got to Japan, where he met the famous sorcerer Nakano, who was an Immortal too. Soon, they became friends, and Nakano taught Conor some tricks. But one day, an old enemy, Kane, came to Japan willing to find Nakano’s cave and kill him. Although he succeeded, after cutting Nakano’s head the mountain collapsed and Kane was trapped. Now, centuries after, an excavation reveals Nakano’s cave…
Highlander has become something of a pop culture icon despite a slew of crummy sequels, a cheap cartoon series, and a long-running television drama. The tales of troubled production have haunted all of the films in the series, and Highlander III is no exception. After the disastrous Part II, the producers have wisely decided to exercise that film from the official mythology and position Final Dimension as a direct follow-up to Part One. Got all that? If that’s hard to follow, the plot of Highlander III: The Final Dimension will confound you.
Dimension Films, an outfit that had a reputation for post-production overhauls and 11th-hour restructuring in the editing room, was responsible for distributing Final Dimension. The final product indicates that Highlander 3 fell victim to tinkering but is still a definite improvement over the bizarre Part II.
