Black Gunn (1972) – Review

Where to watch Black Gunn

3 Stars

A successful and popular nightclub owner who believes financial independence is the path to equality and success, must act as a go-between for militant-minded brother and the white gang syndicate hisbrother has attacked and robbed. Their involvements lead to a breathless race course chase, the destruction of a dopepusher and a violent waterfront climax.

Jim Brown is one bad mother. Shut your mouth; I’m talking about Jim Brown. The Hall of Fame athlete is also a really good screen presence in these Blaxsplotation films from the 1970s. Black Gunn is another above-average action film starring Brown as the hero who faces off against Italian gangsters in Atlanta. The plot holds together nicely, and Brown delivers some righteous beatdowns in the film’s second half. What else could you ask for from this type of movie?
