Into the Blue 2: The Reef (2009) – Review

This decent Direct-to DVD sequel has absolutely nothing to do with the 2005 film of the same name. This time the location has been changed from the Bahamas to lush Hawaii. Gone are original stars Jessica Alba and Paul Walker in their place are Chris Mcarmack (a Casper Van Dien lookalike) and the absolutely stunning Laura Vandervoort. The film was directed by veteran Stephen Herek who seems to be slumming himself out here. The plot is so thin that there are four montages to pad the running time. But then again you don’t watch a film like this for the writing. At times it seems to be approaching the level of a soft-core porn, but then it remembers that its about treasure hunters looking for a nuclear warhead! The saving grace in this picture is the gorgeous cinematography and the equally attractive Laura Vandervoort, who sports various bikini’s for nearly the entire running time. Worth seeing for those two reasons alone. Lets hope this outing puts an end to the ‘Into the Blue’ franchise.
Director: Stephen Herek
Stars: Chris Mcarmack, Laura Vandervoort, Audrina Partridge

Actually this a film with no merit. Productio values are lower than a random Baywatch episode, the plot is boring and predictable. Oh, and the girl from the cover never drop her bikini
