Killers (2010) – Review

1 1/2 Stars
In an attempt at recapturing the fun in 2005′s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Killers fails on every level. At first it is a simple romantic comedy, without the romance and severely lacking in laughs. Then at around the hour-in point, there’s some action. Not good action, but long action sequences that compliment the boring beginning of the film. The couple are attacked, bullets fly and the attacker is killed. Nothing more nothing less.
Ashton Kutcher plays his hit man as a nice likable guy. And Katherine Heigl doesn’t turn in a performance that hurts the film. The fact here is, the film really isn’t good and it doesn’t matter who stars in it. Tom Selleck is incredibly underused playing the father to Heigl’s character, and Catherine O’Hara as her alcoholic mother does add a little bit of fun. Its your basic run of the mill story, missing on every beat. When Kutcher and Heigl are the only things going for a flick, you’d better opt out, or at least wait for it in DVD.
