Where to watch Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie
The legendary Power Rangers must stop the evil space pirate Divatox from releasing the powerful Maligore from his volcanic imprisonment on the island of Muranthias, where only the kindly wizard Lerigot has the key to release him. The hope of victory lies in the Ranger’s incredible new Turbo powers and powerful Turbo Zords.
Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie is a step down from the low bar set by the 1995 original. This sequel is aimed at even younger audiences than the first film. The Power Rangers franchise was running out of steam by 1997, and the producers of Turbo wisely cut back on the budget. Part two cost 50% less than part one, and the savings show. This is one of the shoddiest movies to receive a wide release during the 90s. Sets, costumes, and locations have been chosen based on economic reasons, and the entire film has a dull, drab look and tone.
Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie feels like it exists solely as a contractual obligation. Any imagination, inspiration, or care has long vanished from the series, which makes Turbo less entertaining than the afternoon TV show that spawned it. I realise that I’m not the target audience for this type of movie, but I enjoyed parts of the 1995 film, and I really liked the 2017 reboot, but Turbo is garbage, and will bore anyone over ten.
