I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell (2009) – Review

If you make it through the first meandering and incredibly boring twenty minutes of this movie, you’ll be surprised at how much better it gets. The dialogue starts out horrible and unbelievable, but once the characters begin trying to pickup girls things get good. It’s almost as if the writer was replaced after the first act. Matt Czuchry plays a likable jerk with the Tucker Max character The real Tucker Max wrote both the film and the novel, which in part were based on his real life blog. Of course nothing in this movie seems like real life, its all a little too planned out. There is a very funny gag at the end of the movie that is so grotesque and true to life I won’t repeat it here (ok, it has to do with fecal matter). Even with that scene this movie is very slow and boring in so many places that not even the few funny jerky things that come out of Tucker and friends’ mouths can save it.

This review is ridiculously spot on. The beginning almost made me give up on life but the second half brought me back to my single years.
