Never fear Rambo fans! Those of you looking for your next Rambo fix will soon be able to experience the chiseled war hero on your PC, Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii. UK based video game publisher, Reef Entertainment has secured the rights to develop multiple titles based on the popular movie franchise. This will mark the first time a Rambo video game will be produced for one of the next gen consoles.
Although no information has been released on the type of game that will be developed, fans can only speculate. Will the gameplay follow the popular first-person shooter style that has been so successful recently? It seems like a natural fit, although other options are also possible. In recent years third-person shooters have seen a rise in popularity. With the excellent gameplay found in the Uncharted and Gears of War franchises one can only imagine how Rambo would fair in a similar setting. Either way Reef Entertainment promises that the new game series will capture the bloody gritty feel that we’ve come to expect from the Rambo franchise. The first title is scheduled to be released sometime in late 2012.
