Trends International has posted the two new promotional posters for The Dark Knight Rises which you can view below.

The posters won’t be used in the film’s marketing, but you may see the images on merchandise, etc.

Ryan Reynolds the Frontrunner for Highlander

Variety is reporting that Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment is eyeing Ryan Reynolds to star in the Highlander reboot.

“Ryan Reynolds has emerged as the front-runner to topline Lionsgate-Summit’s franchise reboot, and though it’s unclear whether an actual offer has been made, sources tell Variety that both sides are in talks and are very interested in working together. Insiders add that Reynolds is weighing other offers and that [he] could still pursue another project,” says the trade.

Todd Field’s The Creed of Violence Gets Financing

It’s been six years since Todd Field’s adaptation of Little Children, his follow-up to the multiple Oscar nominee In the Bedroom, and now, nearly three years after Field took on an adaptation of Boston Teran’s The Creed of Violence, Cross Creek Pictures have come on board to produce and finance the filmmaker’s third feature film with Universal Pictures set to distribute.

The fifth novel by Teran, author of God is a Bullet, is set during the 1910 Mexican Revolution as seen through the eyes of a small-time assassin named Rawbone and a young Bureau of Investigation agent named John Lourdes. The two are forced to work together to infiltrate a Mexican arms smuggling ring where they encounter killers and thieves.

4 Pixar Movies Returning to AMC Theaters Memorial Day Weekend

Female Protagonist to Lead Blade Runner Sequel

With the announcement that original Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher is on board for the sequel, director Ridley Scott also revealed a bit more to The Daily Beast.

Yesterday, the filmmakers said that “the much-anticipated project is intended to be a sequel to the renowned original. The filmmakers would reveal only that the new story will take place some years after the first film concluded.”

Scott told the site that he “started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week. We have a very good take on it. And we’ll definitely be featuring a female protagonist.”

Much like Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Noomi Rapace also leads Scott’s Prometheus, which opens in theaters on June 8.

The Avengers the Fastest Ever to Reach $400 Million Domestically

Marvel’s The Avengers set a new domestic speed record yesterday, May 17th, reaching the $400 million box office threshold in just 14 days. The previous record of 18 days was held by The Dark Knight.

Worldwide, “The Avengers” has passed Toy Story 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest to become the #6 highest-grossing film of all time and the highest-grossing Disney release ever. Internationally it is currently the #9 highest-grossing film of all time.

First 10 Minutes of Teen Wolf Season 2

MTV has released the first 10 minutes of the second season of “Teen Wolf,” which premieres in two parts, with part one kicking off on Sunday, June 3 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, immediately following the “2012 MTV Movie Awards,” and part two debuting the following night, on Monday, June 4, in its regularly scheduled 10:00 p.m. ET/PT timeslot.

Number 9 Films is announcing from out of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival that they’ve confirmed Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett and Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska to headline their adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 novella “The Price of Salt” into a film called Carol, directed by John Crowley (Intermission, Boy A).

Adapted by Phyllis Nagy, the story of a lesbian romance in the ’50s written by Highsmith (under the pseudonym Claire Morgan), is being produced by Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley at Number 9 Films along with Film4 with filming scheduled to start in London and New York starting February 2013.

Disney Developing Peter and the Starcatchers Movie

The Broadway play Peter and the Starcatchers, based on Dave Barry and Ridley Pierson’s bestselling children’s book, is already a huge hit, having received nine Tony Award nominations earlier this month, and now Walt Disney Pictures (whose publishing division Hyperion released the original book) have hired writer Jesse Wigutow to adapt the book into a movie with likely franchise potential.

The book tells the backstory of the iconic Peter Pan character with Barry and Pierson already working on a series of books set in the same word.

Anthony Mackie May Join Runner Runner

According to Deadline, actor Anthony Mackie may be joining Brad (The Lincoln Lawyer) Furman’s Runner Runner, a drama about offshore online gaming for 20th Century Fox’s New Regency that already stars Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.

Alex Proyas Setting Up Gods of Egypt at Summit

A few years back, I, Robot director Alex Proyas helmed the sci-fi thriller Knowing for Summit Entertainment, and according to Deadline, they plan to reunite for Proyas’ Gods of Egypt, an original story set in ancient Egyptian times that he’ll be co-writing with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Produced by Proyas’ Mystery Clock Cinema with Basil (Clash of the Titans) Iwanyk’s Thunder Road, the film is “the story of a common thief and a god on a magical quest set amongst the pyramids and sphinxes.”

Juno Temple Joins Maleficent

The cast for Walt Disney Pictures’ reimagining of the “Sleeping Beauty” fairy tale, Maleficent, has been coming together over the last few weeks and the new name joining the cast is Juno Temple, who will play Thistlewit, one of three pixies along with veteran British actresses Imelda Staunton and Lesley Manville.

Stealth Media Group announced today that Nicolas Cage and Mickey Rourke are in talks to star in director Ryuhei Kitamura’s Marble City. Release Date Set for Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Dimension Films announced today that the sequel Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will open nationwide on October 4, 2013. Morgan Freeman Confirmed for Last Vegas

First Poster for the 23rd James Bond Movie, Skyfall!

Liam Neeson to Star in A Walk Among the Tombstones

Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures have entered into a three year development and production deal with a minimum of two feature films per year. A Walk Among the Tombstones, starring Liam Neeson, will be the first film to be produced and financed under this new arrangement. Entertainment Weekly has debuted these first three photos of Liam Neeson in Taken 2, which Twentieth Century Fox will release in theaters on October 5.

Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.

John Cusack to Play Grand Piano

John Cusack is in negotiations to join Elijah Wood in the high-concept indie thriller Grand Piano, Variety reports.

The film arrives from writer Damien Chazelle and director Eugenio Mira and will feature Wood as a famous concert pianist whose crippling stage fright has prevented him from performing for years. When he finally overcomes his fears and plays before an audience, he finds himself trapped in a deadly scenario that forces him to keep playing expertly or forfeit his own life and that of his wife to a mysterious madman.

Eli Roth to Direct The Green Inferno

Eli Roth is set to direct his next horror thriller, The Green Inferno. Details on the film’s plot have yet to be revealed.

Best known for horror entries like Hostel and Cabin Fever, Roth co-wrote the screenplay with Aftershock co-writer Guillermo Amoedo, from Roth’s own original story.

Worldview Entertainment, a New York City-based motion picture production and investment company, has signed on to finance and produce.

“Eli has an excellent track record of writing and directing high quality, commercially successful films of this genre. We are big fans of his work and very excited to be a part of his next project,” said Worldview CEO, Christopher Woodrow.
